Whispers of the Fog: A Forensic Mystery in the Drowned Capital

Assistant Prosecutor Judy Dunning is haunted by her late father’s final words, pushing her to unearth a case long buried by time. She discovers a sealed dossier that could exonerate the dead and expose a corrupt network within the Customs department, where historical artifacts are treated as lucrative business rather than sacred truths. Facing relentless opposition and systemic threats, Judy must outsmart powerful opponents who view history as commodity. With the sharp, irascible forensic expert Noah Brooks by her side, and a discreet archivist Megan O’Brien hiding critical records, the trio battles an entrenched cabal led by Customs official Ethan Carter. In a city shrouded in perpetual fog, Judy must weaponize forensic trace analysis to overturn a manufactured past. The dead cannot speak, but their traces remain. Judy intends to let them testify.
